Good therapy is easier to use when clients understand what they are doing and why.
This client-facing companion helps people recognise the OCD process in their own lives, understand what keeps it going and build confidence with exposure and response prevention. The longer-term aim is to help clients increasingly recognise what OCD is asking them to do, choose a different response and return to the life OCD interrupted.
Clinician guidance + printable worksheets | Adults 18+

Accessible explanations of intrusive experiences, obsessions, compulsions, avoidance and reassurance.
Help clients recognise how their own responses can provide short-term relief while keeping the problem going.
Explain what exposure and response prevention involves, why it is being used and what clients are learning through practice.
Support clients in recognising the pull toward certainty without turning psychoeducation into another form of reassurance.
Accessible guidance to support the treatment work agreed with the clinician.
Help clients recognise meaningful changes, respond to setbacks and increasingly apply what they have learned beyond sessions.
The pack contains eight client guides covering the OCD loop, treatment and new learning, including intrusive experiences, compulsions, avoidance, reassurance, ERP, uncertainty, imaginal and real-life exposure, support, progress and lapses.

OCD and ERP explained in straightforward, respectful language without oversimplifying the treatment.

Visual and written resources that connect treatment principles with what clients may notice in everyday life.

Printable resources designed to be completed collaboratively and increasingly used independently when this has been agreed within treatment.
Who is it for?
Adults receiving clinician-guided treatment for OCD, and clinicians who want clear, professionally designed psychoeducation and shared resources to use alongside therapy.
How is it designed to be used?
The guides can be worked through as a sequence or selected individually when a particular explanation supports the next treatment conversation. Information is linked back to the client’s individual formulation and practical treatment work rather than being used as reassurance.
What will I receive?
A 66-page digital PDF containing eight client-facing guides alongside practical and printable shared resources.
